Dubai - Part 1
As you'll know, back in March I went to Dubai with the bf for two weeks of rest and to see his family who live out there.
For the first couple of days we lay by the pool, played volleyball, slept and ate ice creams which was total bliss.
Excuse the wrinkly fingers! I love swimming a tad too much!
About half way through the first week the bf's parents gave us with a surprise present - tea at the top of the Burj Khalifa.
This was something I have been desperate to do since our last trip to Dubai. For those of you unfamiliar with Dubai, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world (830 meters) and towers over Dubai. I love looking at the view from tall buildings, and with the option of food and drink included, it was the perfect afternoon activity.
The bf, his brother, his brother's girlfriend and I ventured downtown to the Burj and headed up to Atmosphere on the 122 floor (about 442 metres up). We started with drinks, while we admired the amazing views out over the desert and the sea.
Then the food arrived, which began with these starters: the salmon square and tiny sandwiches were delicious, and then it was all followed with a palate cleanser. At which point I forgot to take any more photos until we reached cocktails at the end, sorry! You'll have to take my word, it was amazing.
I can highly recommend going up - the views are insane and the food was delicious! One point though: if you have a nut allergy, like me, definitely warn them before hand! Stupid me!
I'll be showing you around more of Dubai in my next post!
