Welcome to a new element of my blog, Rubelle's obsession with food. I thought I could talk about one of my favourite meals of the day - Breakfast.
I am definitely a morning person, I hate the feeling you get when you wake up at 12 and you're like, damm, half the day is gone. With this obsession with mornings comes my obsession with breakfast, I love mixing up what I have, and to me, its a challenge to create a yummy breakfast, and leave the house on time, when the bf seems to only have time to roll out of bed, shower and leave for work! So I thought I'd talk about some of my favourite breakfast ideas.
1. First breakfast idea - Poached eggs on toast with avocado. I included this in my 5 things post a few weeks back, but this is a really great start to a day, especially if I've been for a run.
2. Grapefruit, this is a new find (please excuse the excessive use of ray-bans in my photos). Mum used to occassionally give us a grapefruit for breakfast when I was a child, I always found them really sour, but I now love them. I love the bitter taste first thing in the morning, and having done some research, they are super healthy as well!
3 - French toast with bacon and eggs. This was actually a creation by the bf a few weeks back and it blew my mind. What you can't really see from the photo is the stack of french toast with parmesan shavings on it, under the egg. Definitely not a mid week breakfast but an awesome treat for the weekend, when you have time to read the papers while you eat it.
4. Because it's Wimbledon season - Strawberries! This is a totally lazy breakfast, because it requires so little effort. I normally add a bowl of porridge or if I'm feeling lazy weetabix or whatever cereal is lying around my flat.
