After a morning spent wandering through the flower market, I had finally decided on flowers to buy! (They aren't cheap, but definitely cheaper than going to a florist - sorry florists!). I had a bit of a trek from London to back home, but the flowers survived surprisingly well.
“I must have flowers, always, and always.”
― Claude Monet
Last week when I was in my local town I came across some old glasses which I thought would make perfect vases for flowers, and for getting 4 for £2, it seemed rude not to try it!
To prepare the flowers, I cut a few inches off each stem and left them in a bucket of water for a few hours, just to rehydrate them after my trip. Then I put a couple of each flower into each glass.
Sometimes it's the simple things that work the best! I was really pleased with how they looked and apart from topping up the water the flowers lasted beautifully!
I picked up the glasses in a local charity shop, (I see them quite often), the only thing you want to look out for is that the glass isn't too shallow or you'll forever be topping up the water!
Send me a photo if you try this at home!
